SHOW STARTS:
Can Jayne and Chris get any better? Did you see that Bolero performance? They’ve reached a new peak if you ask me, I mean using those ribbons to fly. How inventive and original, not to mention beautiful… Stunning! Chris is ever the ‘man’ throughout his performance and Jayne the elegant innocent princess in violet, just waiting to be to be plucked – Oooh, I went all romantic for a moment then, what’s up with me? Well, forbidden love and all that. You have to embrace the Bolero, it gets better and better each year… Magical every time.
Jayne had no harness or safety net and she was so high!

For tonight’s flying routines, Jayne and Chris have decided to add to required element. The skaters must perform a somersault through their wires or a roatating spin, starting on the ice and then continuing as they take off – it’s tricky stuff but I’d love to have a go. Would you?
Head judge Robin Cousins knows that in recent weeks it’s all been about fan votes and skating skills but the skaters have to lay everything on the line tonight and go for it, he wants to see them enjoying themselves. "They have to convince the people at home to pick up the phone!"
So who’s first?
I always feel sorry for the boys when it comes to the flying, it’s hard to ‘be the lead’ when you’re flouncing about on wires and it’s far more painful, they never look as elegant as the ladies – Hayley has a head start.
Kieron is first and he performs with Brianne to a romantic version of Jai Ho, I love a good slowy...
There’s a mid-air side run, three somersaults and a beautiful air walk. He pulled it off and I’m surprised just how graceful he looked considering he had so muh trouble dancing in earlier weeks.

Robin: "That was a very strong confident performance not gangly like previous weeks."
Emma: "You should be so proud of yourself, your posture was fantastic and you’re like a different person."
Jason describes Kieron’s transitions back onto the ice as "clunky" but agrees that his presentation has improved. Kieron’s pleased as punch!
Tamaddon Time!
Well, what can I say? Apart from Dan catching the wire and a slight pause that was sensational!
There’s a beautiful spinning layout, a float, somersaults and the new tandem sky dive. Dan lays across Hayley and they both glide through the air together. Hayley promised something new and said they were going to go for it – They didn’t disappoint did they?

Three sixes! 29 points!
Arrr… Baby Bunton is blubbing. "I’m in tears and I’m so emotional. I’m like this because I know how hard you’ve worked and how much you love this. It’s like you’re doing it with your best friend, your transitions were beautiful."
Nicky Slater actually thanks Hayley for taking part in this years show as she’s worked so hard and put so much into it.
Did you love it that much?
I spotted a few errors and well done to the judges who awarded 5.5’s. I’d have done the same. Just because it makes you cry doesn’t make it a six.
Pink, passionate, pretty and professional but not perfect.

Poor Gary, he’s had such a hard week and has struggled getting to grips with the wires – He’s smashed head first into the ice so many times trying the somersaults… Fingers crossed…
He and Maria perform to Starman and although some of the tricks are good, there’s a lot of floating about posing like Superman.
There’s a travelling spin, an air hang (which Maria nearly slips from) and the required somersaults.

Karen: "We both looked at each other today and said, ‘where did that come from?’ It was like all of a sudden you got it. There was a slight deduction from me as one of the transitions wasn’t quite there – but that was great."
Jason tried to say something nice…
"I wasn’t expecting you to be quite as good as you were, there was some grace there but there wasn’t the variation for me." Am I losing it? I’m agreeing with Jason again! He’s right, the Superman pose popped up over and over to fill the gaps.
Sorry, was chatting in the comments section…

I was just saying that I’d like to see Kieron and Hayley perform Bolero. I think Kieron wants it more and I’ve loved watching himweek after week. He’s grown from boy to man before our eyes and is so humble – I think he’s a more passionate perfromer than Gary too!
It’s time for the skaters to perform their favourite routine of the series.
Kieron and Brianne have chosen Ever Fallen In Love With Someone (You Shouldn’t Have Fallen In Love With) and the crowd go wild. The pair throw everything at it and it’s both edgy and raw – in a good way of course.
There’s a teapot flip, fantastic dance sequences included the swim start, crossovers, mohawks, lunges and so much more.

Bless him, "I’m bleeding in my mouth again. I got excited during a lift and bit my tongue but it’s well worth it. I loved every minute of it!"
Nicky commends the fact that he goes for it but pulls him up for losing concentration here and there. "Sometimes it looks a little raggedy as you go for it in a raggedy fashion." That works for me for that kind of routine Nicky, it’s rock stylee!
Emma agrees but she can’t fault his enthusiasm or the fact that he’s improved so much.
I knew Hayley would choose her Slumdog routine, did you?

Can you say top marks?
I think it’s looking that way…
No slips…
I love it when Hayley gives it her all, you can see the poor girl’s heart beating in her chest.
There’s a floating genie, toe steps, spin and that amazing overhead waltzer split – I think it was better than last time! Is that possible?
30 points and a perfect score!
It’s well deserved, I didn’t spot one blip did you? I think someone will be dancing Bolero tonight…
Robin is obviously very proud of Hayley, "you could have just repeated your previous performance but you didn’t. You didn’t deliver what you did a few weeks ago you delivered something better. It was tighter!"
Karen is teary, "You promised that you would make us proud and you kept that promise…"
Can Gary claw his way back after a disappointing flight? There’s an angel lift, shoulder stag lift and mirror step sequence… I’m not convinced – sorry.
Gary smiles but looks a little defeated, "It’s a lovely piece of music, I love that song and we enjoyed it… and there’s no pleasing him over there (Jason) so I’ve given up now!"
Jason Gardiner is not happy with the jibe and hacks back. "You are easy to watch and you skate well but you have no performance at all."
Ahem! Olympic medalist Robin Cousins disagrees with Jason and concentrates on Gary’s skating ability. "I have told you Gary, you have been one of if not ‘the’ best technician we have on the show, you but you cannot compete with Hayley when it comes to overall performance!"
So that’s all of the performances for now…
Who would you send packing?
I think it will be Kieron and Hayley dancing Bolero. Get voting, the show continues and you’ve not got long…

Right! While the celebrity ‘look how hard they’ve worked’ montages run, I’ll give you my two penneths… Yes, this is a popularity contest and yes, it should also be about skating skills but is really a one horse race? If the skater who has the best ‘skills’ always wins then Chris Fountain would have won and not Suzanne Shaw – he was a much better skater but Suzy had the likeability factor. With that in mind who will make it through between Gary and Kieron? Which way will the public go? I mean if it’s about technique then it’s Gary but Kieron has captured the public’s hearts…
What a shock! I thought it would be Kieron but he’s out! Gary Lucy has made it through to the final two alongside Hayley. Kieron looks gutted, it’s heartbreaking to put them in their Bolero outfits before they find out if they can dance – Naughty ITV! (I love it really.)
Kieron holds it together…
"I’ve had the best experience of my life and working with Jayne and Chris and everyone backstage… Brianne is now a friend for life and I just hope I have done everyone at Hollyoaks proud and all of my family and friends." Kieron you are a gent and a star, you should be very proud and so should your parents – you are a credit to them.
So Gary and Hayley are through to dance Bolero and the slate is wiped clean. Voting opens again after the break, who will take the trophy? (Can you say Tammers? I think you’re right!)
Am I being cynical and horribly suspicious? I’m just wondering how Dan and Hayley were put together for the show. They are childhood friends after all, was it random? Hmmm…
Anyway, back to the show. All the celebs return to skate once more and I can’t help but giggle at Bobby Davro, he is hilariously kack isn’t he?
Ooh, I forgot how yummy Jeremy Sheffield was and here’s Heather – she’s going for it!
Sinitta nearly falls and Mikey Graham receives an ovation from the audience (I’m not surprised, I loved him – top bloke).
(Phwoar!) Danny Young doing his boxing routine in next to nothing, I’m drooling and Jason Gardiner is too!
Danniella Westbrook returns and now I can see the difference… I was gutted when she left but tonight’s performance highlighted the gap between Hayley and Danni – it’s all about the detail. Watch it back and look at the toes and hands, even the facial expression. Hayley points every toe and acts every move with face and hands, tonight I see that Danni does not… It’s funny how these things come to light when you have chance to compare.
I don’t want to make this sound like it’s over, but I can’t wait for Hayley and Dan’s Bolero…

The only rules Jayne and Chris set for Bolero are that the skaters must start on their knees and end in the famous ‘laid out’ position – come on, you know the one… Have a go! LOL!
Hayley and Dan are first and (wow) it’s nothing short of spellbinding. It’s captivating, passionate and their eyes never leave each other. There’s a spinning lay out lift, Torvill and Dean toe-pick steps, crossovers and… the list goes on and on. They have to be commended for incorporating the lift that caused ‘that’ fall weeks ago too. As the pair slide their routine to an end the drama of the piece is obvious and the spotlight captures Hayley’s beaming smile and beating heart… They’re both overjoyed to have done it.
Hayley says she has been waiting to dance Bolero since she was a little girl. I have to say, Chris Dean looks quite overwhelmed by the performance.
There are no scores as it’s down to the public vote…
Robin Cousins loved it, "You never leave the zone but you never forget about the partnership. Throughout the series it has always been about your partnership…"
Gary and Maria give everything they have and I have to say, he’s raises the bar and obviously wants to give Hayley a run for her money… Can he?
There are waltz lifts, a drag lay-out combination, a counterbalance, roll-up into crucifix and much more… I’m still not sure if there’s enough content to swing it, Hayley and Dan just have that ‘pop’.

Robin Cousins commends Gary on his technique (again!) and is glad he’s challenging himself.. Unfortunately he adds "it could have been a little more fluid" and I can’t help thinking that’s a hint to the public. He had nothing bad to say about Hayley’s performance.
What do you think?

So who wins…
THE RESULT:
I always hate this part, the runner-up barely gets a second to speak before they’re shunted off and then (thanks to time restrictions) the winner is handed the trophy and just about blurts out a ‘ta’ before the credits!
The winner of Dancing On Ice 2010 is…
HAYLEY TAMADDON!
You’re blind if you didn’t see that coming! Hayley and Dan can’t stop hugging, they’re so happy it’s well deserved – that Slumdog routine sealed the deal – Superb!
Gary Lucy is humble in defeat, "She was fantastic from the start, sixes across the board and it was well deserved. I’ve loved skating with Maria and every minute of it!"
Blimey, Phil Schofield hands over the trophy but since when do we not hear from the winner? She didn’t even get to speak!
What do you think of that?

Did you miss that split second? Here they are:
As the credits roll, I can see Hayley thanking everyone and she’s says she "can’t believe it". Should I really have to lip read to hear from the winning skater?
Ah well… It was a cracking series and it’s been fun.
I hope you have enjoyed the blogs and will join me for Britain’s Got Talent real soon!
See you then x
